Biden vows to unify US while giving his first speech

Agency: Joe Biden said that now it is time to heal the US while giving his first speech as the president-elect.

Addressing the ones who did not vote for him, he said ‘Let’s give each other a chance’.

On the other hand, Donald Trump has not spoken publicly after his defeat. The supporters of Trump were disappointed and they demonstrated in some cities of the US.

 “I pledge to be a president who seeks not to divide, but to unify; who doesn’t see red states and blue states, only sees the United States,” said Biden, addressing the cheering supporters in a parking lot in the hometown of Wilmington.

Biden also reached out to Trump supporters and said “It’s time to put away the harsh rhetoric, lower the temperature, see each other again, listen to each other again.”

He added, “And to make progress, we have to stop treating our opponents as enemies.”
