Political parties organize meetings after Oli dissolves parliament

Kathmandu: Various political parties have been preparing to hold emergency meetings following Prime Minister KP Oli’s decision to dissolve the parliament.

The main opposition party, Nepali Congress (NC), has termed the PM’s decision ‘unconstitutional’ and ‘undemocratic’.

The opposition party has scheduled a meeting at 4 pm today at the NC headquarters in Sanepa.

Besides the NC leaders, executive chairman of the ruling Nepal Communist Party Pushpa Kamal Dahal and senior leader Madhav Kumar Nepal and their led-faction are also disappointed with the parliament dissolution. The main opposition party has invited NCP leader Pushpa Kamal Dahal and his associates to the meeting.

On the other hand, PM Oli has been organizing meetings with political party leaders and members close to him at his official residence in Baluwatar. It has been reported that he has called the meeting to discuss about upcoming strategies.
