Several European nation halt flights from UK

Agency: Several European nation have halted flights from UK in response to new more infectious coronavirus variant in the UK.

Germany, France and Italy have already suspended flights from UK. Canada has also been blocking the flights.

According to the Health Officials, the new variant is up to 70 percent more transmissible. However, there is no evidence that it is deadlier.

Also, there are no evidences that it reacts differently to vaccines.

According to UK Health Secretary Matt Hancock said that the new variant was getting out of control, writes BBC.

The Netherlands said that it would ban passenger flights from the UK until January 1.

Similarly, France suspended all travel links including freight Lorries.

Similarly, in Ireland too, the government announced that flights arriving from Britain, regardless of nationality would be banned for 48 hours.

In Germany too, planes from UK would not be allowed to land.

Similarly, Belgium will also halt flights and trains from the UK for at least 24 hours for precautionary measures.  Italy has banned UK flights until January 6. Likewise, Bulgaria has also suspended flights to and from UK.

The Netherlands was the first on Sunday to announce an immediate ban on flights.

Other countries which announced restriction on UK travel are Israel, Iran, Croatia, Argentina, Chile, Kuwait, Turkey, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia and Switzerland.
