Twitter and Facebook blocked Trump’s account

Agency: Donald Trump has been suspended from Twitter and Facebook. This happened after he tweeted to his supporters who attacked the US Capitol.

He said “I love you” to the protestors through a social media message. According to BBC, he also repeated false claims about election fraud.

Twitter said that it required removal of three tweets for “severe violations of our civic Integrity policy”.

Twitter said that Trump’s account would remain locked for good if the tweets were not removed.

According to the company, they will permanently suspend @realDonaldTrump account if “future violation of Twitter rules”.

Meanwhile, Facebook banned Trump for 24 hours. YouTube also removed the video, according to BBC.

According to Facebook, they removed it because on balance they believe that it contributes to rather than diminish the risk of ongoing violence.
