One killed in incident of fire

Inaruwa (Sunsari). A woman has been killed in an incident of fire in Itahari. The deceased has been identified as 52-year-old Gopimaya Katwal of Itahari-6.

Katwal died in the fire that broke out in the house of Bishnu Khadka of Itahari-6 last night, Deputy Superintendent of Police of Sunsari Naveen Krishna Bhandari said. Katwal was living in a rented room of the house with her son and daughter-in-law.

Preliminary investigation by police has shown that Katwal may have resorted to self-immolation, as the room was locked from inside. Further investigation into the incident is underway, Sunsari District Police Office said. Family sources said that Katwal had been on a medication for depression.
