Subekshya’s art journey, from Modeling to film

Kathmandu. Subekshya Khadka entered into cinema industry through beauty pageant. Last year only, the cinema ‘Chitra’ having her lead role was released. No matter what the industry is, she has always proved herself in front of the audience.

Either it be modeling or acting. Subekshya born in 1994, took part in Miss e-college 2011 for the first time and won two subtitles in top five. Everybody was rooting for her to win the title but she couldn’t. ‘I expected but this was my fate’, says Subekshya,’ I have learnt so many things from that event and I thought I could do more so I did.’

After one year of that event, she took part in the biggest beauty pageant of the country, Miss Nepal 2012 and won Miss Nepal International 2012 title. This was a success in itself but as well as this was the key to unlock so many doors in the future. Subekshya was fond of beauty pageant since her childhood. She was influenced by the pageant she used to watch in the television. She never skipped any beauty pageant either it be Miss Universe or Miss World. ‘I wasn’t just watching the pagents, I was influenced as well. I used to dream to take part in such pageant and win the title. But I never thought I would choose the same thing,’ Subekshya says nostalgically.

She was so much into Miss Nepal since the beginning that she remembered all the names of Miss Nepal. In 2012, she just joined Bachelor. Suddenly, she thought of competing for Miss Nepal and her family helped for that and made it a bit easy for her. ‘I thought Miss Nepal was the largest platform to enter modeling and that’s the reason I took part,’ Subekshya says. She established herself with only four beauty pageants. For the national, she took part in Miss e-college 2011, Miss Nepal 2012 and for international she competed in Miss International 2012 (Japan) and World Miss University 2017 (Cambodia).

These pageants gave her name as well as the fame. Its been 12 years she started her modeling journey. During this journey she got the chance to get connected with the audience as well as gave her the opportunity to collaborate with different brands of different countries. She also worked as a brand ambassador of infamous companies of the country.

She has been the face of Magic footwear, Glam and Glory Hair Removal Cream, Mini So, Wellbell, Tranquility Spa and Option Consultancy till now. Modeling is Subekshya’s occupation, she enjoys it. Modeling gave her wings and filled her life with opportunities and success. She got the chance to work in-front of the camera without any hesitation and on the top of everything, modeling gave her the identity.

To be on the newspaper, be the headlines, to be a part of an interview, to be an emcee, each of the opportunities are the gift of her modeling and she is always rooting for her love towards modeling. When she participated in Miss Nepal and won Miss Nepal International, she got the offers for the movie but she was not so courageous back then.

Even if she wasn’t doing any movies, she was having a close eye. When she used to get an offer, sometimes, she thought of taking the offer but she wanted to take time. But when Govinda Singh Bhandari offered her the cinema, she was triggered to work with his team. She did ‘Ranbir’, which happened to be her first cinema. She entered into cinema industry.

She did the cinema ‘Ranabir’, ‘Chitra’ but she is still rooted into modeling. She is still thinking to give it a continuity. ‘I am also working in cinema. Soon, audiences will see me in a big screen. I am also in touch with international agencies and I am getting enough opportunities as well,’ Subekshya says, ‘I will work with those agencies. Cinema and Modeling are my identity, I will continue doing that.’
