Russia agrees to produce Sputnik V vaccine in India
Agency: Russia have agreed to mass produce doses of the Sputnik V vaccine against COVID 19 in India.
Hetero Drugs, a Hyderabad based company will be producing over 100 million doses of Sputnik V from starting of 2021, according to Russian Direct Investment Fund (RDIF).
It is expected that the company will produce these doses over the course of a year. More than 50 countries have requested for more than 1.2 billion doses of Sputnik V vaccine.
Also, the two-shot vaccine will cost less than $20 per person on international markets, writes Aljazeera.
According to the Reuters news agency, the price of this vaccine will be significantly lower than other vaccine.
According to Russian Direct Investment Fund (RDIF), any side effects has not been reported during the phase three trial.
RDIF has said that however some volunteers had short term side effects like pain at the injected and flu like symptoms.
